What Is Eyelid Surgery - Blepharoplasty?

Most patients return to light activities within 7–10 days, with full recovery in 2–3 weeks. You may experience mild swelling, bruising, or tightness, and stitches are usually removed within a week. Who is a Good Candidate?

The eyes often show the first signs of aging, with sagging skin or under-eye puffiness making you look tired. Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) refreshes the upper and/or lower eyelids for a brighter, more youthful look.

Ideal candidates have drooping upper lids that may affect vision or under-eye bags that create a fatigued appearance. Blepharoplasty removes excess skin and fat, restoring smoother, more open-looking eyes.

Techniques We Use

Upper Blepharoplasty

The upper eyelid incision is carefully placed within the natural crease, allowing for discreet removal of excess skin and fat. This technique not only enhances the appearance of the eyes but can also improve vision by lifting drooping lids.

Lower Blepharoplasty

For lower eyelid surgery, the incision is typically made just below the lash line or inside the eyelid (transconjunctival), leaving little to no visible scar. This approach allows for the removal or repositioning of fat to reduce under-eye bags, and, if needed, gentle skin tightening to create a smoother, more refreshed appearance.
